The GASB 67 and 68 standards are now effective for governmental entities sponsoring defined benefit plans. This webcast will review the standards imposed by GASB 67/68 as well as address issues that have arisen in complying with the requirements of these statements.  The webcast will focus on the GASB 68 requirements with an emphasis on the determination of the discount rate and measurement date, projection of plan assets and audit requirements for agent multiple-employer plans.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Bill Karbon is an Executive Vice President and Director of Compliance with CBIZ Insurance Services, Inc. in Hamilton, N.J. He is an Enrolled Actuary and Certified Pension Consultant and holds a B.A. degree in economics from Rutgers University. Bill, who has over 30 years of experience in the retirement field, is the Vice President of ACOPA and has co-chaired the ASPPA Annual Conference Committee, the ACOPA Advanced Actuarial Conference Committee and the ASPPA Professional Conduct Committee. In October 2013, Bill received ASPPA’s 2013 Educator Award which recognizes outstanding educators from the ASPPA membership who have made significant contributions to retirement plan education.
