Description:
States across the nation are enacting laws that aim to increase saving for retirement in the private workforce. Overall, over 30 states are considering this issue and eight states to date have passed laws of various types addressing this issue. This webcast will describe the types of laws being considered, the details of the state retirement programs, and give an implementation status update in states where these laws already exist. The webcast will have a particular focus on the states whose laws require businesses over a certain size to offer a retirement program of some type for their employees, since those laws will have the biggest marketplace impact on retirement plan providers.

Key Takeaways:
1. This issue is not going away – retirement is the new healthcare.
2. Prepare to answer questions from clients about these programs.
3. Do not let a good ‘crisis’ go to waste - state laws with a coverage requirement could provide new business opportunities for practitioners.
