ACOPA Honors Norman Levinrad with Edward E. Burrows Distinguished Achievement Award

The ASPPA College of Pension Actuaries (ACOPA) honored Norman Levinrad, EA, CPC, FSPA, MAAA, with the 2018 Edward E. Burrows Distinguished Achievement Award at the ACOPA Actuarial Symposium in Chicago on Aug. 10.

The Edward E. Burrows Distinguished Achievement Award is presented annually to a pension actuary who has gone above and beyond in advancing ethics, education, beneficial legislation or regulations that enhance the private pension system or the professionalism of enrolled actuaries within the private pension system.

“Norm has been a huge presence in our ACOPA community, making him a clear choice for the Ed Burrows Award,” said Mark Dunbar, former president of ACOPA and chair of the Burrows Award committee.

Levinrad is President of Summit Benefit & Actuarial Services. He has been a regular speaker at pension and actuarial conferences for the last 30 years, and has published many articles on various pension topics. Levinrad has served in many capacities as a volunteer with ASPPA and ACOPA — most recently as the first Executive Editor of the ACOPA Monthly e-newsletter from 2015 until earlier this year. He has also served in various leadership positions.
