Working With Safe Harbor 401(k)s

It will be a good deal more congenial than testifying before the Treasury Department — but just as informative. Maybe moreso! Robert M. Kaplan, who has more than 30 years’ worth of experience and is the recipient of the Pension Administrator’s Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Institute of Pension Administrators and has indeed testified at Treasury, will share his expertise on working with safe harbor 401(k)s in a July 17 webcast.

He’s a pro at that — he is vice president, National Training Consultant for ING US, which entails performing webcast and live training for ING US Retirement Services personnel, and members of the financial advisor and third party advisor community. And he is a frequent speaker and webcast presenter.

In “Working with Safe Harbor 401(k) Plans,” attendees will gain an in-depth look at common complexities as well as a review of challenges of using the safe harbor provisions. Topics will include a discussion of the use of safe harbor provisions in cross-tested plans, the types of amendments that can be made mid-year, what happens if a notice is not provided timely (or at all) and plan terminations.

You’ll earn CE credits. And if you miss the live broadcast, a recording will be available.
