Regulations, Reforms and Retirement Realities

ASPPA Annual is only a month away — and here is a preview.

As attendees, we always look forward to ASPPA Annual as a time to reconnect with colleagues in the retirement industry, network with new contacts and learn from current and up-and-coming industry experts. There is always excitement around a visit to the exhibit hall to catch up with business partners and learn what new products are coming to the marketplace as well as fill our bags with swag!

Throughout the conference, you’ll be able to direct your own learning experience by choosing the topics and formats that best suit your professional development goals or offer strategic solutions to your specific challenges. We’ve developed session tracks designed to offer targeted education on topics such as administration, fiduciary, consulting, business development and defined benefits, and we are particularly excited about our new track for recordkeepers.

The general sessions are carefully crafted to keep you current on the industry reforms, changing regulations and our new retirement realities. We’ll get things off to a quick start with insights from Brian Graff, Craig Hoffman and Doug Fisher on what’s going on in Washington, DC, and how that might impact your businesses in the months ahead. In years past we’ve employed some remarkably creative ways to bring you up to date on current events — and you’ve seen everything from “those wild and cah-razy guys” Sheldon Smith and Sal Tripodi trying to make sense of hardship withdrawal documentation requirements to Bob “Columbo” Kaplan trying to unwind the mystery of how to get a determination letter from the IRS. This year we’re blending strategy with today's retirement plan world with a game show style presentation based on The Hollywood Squares — hosted by the inimitable Derrin Watson. Got a question that has you perplexed? Check in with Wednesday’s Ask the Experts panel, composed of the most experienced and informed professionals in the pension industry.

While your schedule might be full during the day with high-quality education, the evenings are time to celebrate and enjoy dining and dancing. Sunday will kick off with a President’s Welcome reception in the exhibit hall. On Monday evening, ticketholders will enjoy tours and interactive experiences in DC. Then, end your 2017 ASPPA Annual experience at the coolest party in town with a private concert by Herr Metal (be sure to dress up)!

So — don’t miss out. Hundreds have already registered — but seats (and hotel rooms) are filling up fast. Register today! http://asppaannual.org.
