How Is Planning a Conference Like Building a Video Game?

This year’s TPA Growth Summit will be like the newest improved version of an excellent video game. Here’s how… 

When a new video game is released, players review the game. These reviews inform developers on which features are beloved, as well as what are not, and what is not working. Developers then incorporate changes, and the next, improved version of the game is created and released. 

Conference planning is similar to the process of video game development. Each year, after a conference concludes, conference evaluations are reviewed. These evaluations aid in the discovery of what attendees liked, wanted more of, and didn’t care for. 

This year’s TPA Growth Summit will be like the newest improved version of an excellent video game. We took attendees’ feedback to ‘Level Up’ the Growth Summit. Some improvements incorporated into Growth Summit 2022 include:

• agenda will coincide with Annual’s agenda;
• attendees have the option to attend all Annual general sessions without missing any Growth sessions;
• more peer-to-peer sharing and roundtables;
• more time to connect with other attendees and sponsors; and
• more down time to recharge prior to the next event.

This year’s TPA Growth Summit agenda follows the concept of a video game where attendees can ‘level up’ by attending each new day of the TPA Growth Summit. Each Growth Summit day will build upon the prior day’s sessions. Let’s explore this this Leveled Up agenda a bit further! 

Level 01: Easy Start

At 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, the ASPPA Annual conference and TPA Growth Summit will kick off with a Washington Update. Afterwards, all  attendees will connect and reconnect with peers and vendors at the President’s Happy Hour Reception. 

Since this is an easy level, we expect all attendees to hit the next level, which is really where TPA Growth begins! 

Level 02: The Here and Now

Monday will kick off with General Session 2, which will dig deep into the current status of SECURE 2.0. After this general session, the TPA Growth specific conference will begin! 

Monday’s TPA Growth sessions will be all about working on our practices to create strategic initiatives, engaged employees, and a focused roadmap to accomplish our professional goals. 

Monday afternoon, an e-myth expert will deliver a keynote that will provide us with a guide as to how to ensure that our goals are accomplished. The TPA Growth sessions will conclude on Monday with a peer-to-peer roundtable session where the e-myth coach will take us through a hands-on guide to apply all concepts learned on Monday.

At the end of the conference on Monday, TPA Growth attendees will join others for the third general session, which includes a keynote and fireside chat about the important issue of mental health in the workplace. After this general session, TPA Growth attendees will enjoy an exclusive happy hour reception for attendees and sponsors.

This level is a little more challenging since a lot of business leaders tend to spend more time working in their business instead of on their business. Let’s see what changes you can implement to move onto the next level!
