On-Demand Webcasts

Available until September 20, 2024

Speaker: Stephen Forbes, J.D., LL.M., President, Forbes Retirement Plan Consulting

Description: If there is one truth about retirement plans, it is difficult to satisfy all the requirements. Regardless of how careful we are, the rules are too numerous and complicated not to experience an occasional failure. Fortunately, the IRS recognizes that mistakes happen and has provided correction procedure – EPCRS (Rev. Proc. 2021-30). In SECURE 2.0, Congress has mandated the IRS expand the self-correction methods (Notice 2023-43). In this webcast, we will explain (using examples) the correction procedure. In addition, using practical case studies, we will illustrate how to apply the correction methods to resolve some difficult plan failures. Please view webcast page for a full agenda.

Available Until February 22, 2024

Speaker: Stephen Forbes, J.D., LL.M., President, Forbes Retirement Plan Consulting

To accommodate different fact patterns, it is critical that practitioners not only understand how to design the plans, but also how to test such plans, and how to troubleshoot the plans when the design no longer works. In this webcast, we will use practical examples to help you obtain the skills to make your cross-tested plan practice grow.

Available until October 12, 2023

Speaker:  Patrick Luce, Economist, ITR Economics

Description: 2022 has been a challenging and noisy year for business. High inflation, supply chain disruptions, a volatile stock market, increased interest rates, and slowing economic growth are offset by job growth, the lowest level of unemployment in 50 years, growing wages, a strong dollar, and declining government spending. As we head into the 4th quarter, it’s time for businesses to plan for 2023. And what can we expect? More significant interest rate increases by the Fed to slow down inflation? Will the country go into a recession, or will there be a soft economic landing? How will the economy be impacted based on which party wins in November? There are opportunities and risks ahead and we will explore them in terms of government initiatives, consumer trends, market opportunities, labor issues, and production costs. We will also discuss how business can respond given the projected changes in the economy.  To ensure business leaders are armed with the right information they need to plan for the future, we will cover:

  • The current state of the economy and what business can expect in 2023.
  • Review key leading indicators that predict upcoming cyclical turns in the economy and markets.
  • Assess where inflation is heading.
  • Analyze interest rate and market trends.
  • Discuss major issues that have an impact on your profitability.
  • Review the impact of potential major government programs.
